Dean High

Dean High has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering industry. Dean started their career in 2002 as a Developer at Grintek Ewation, where they were responsible for hands-on software development of the company's large portfolio of products and maintenance of proprietary frameworks and libraries. In the same year, they were promoted to Team Leader Software Development and was responsible for client requirements gathering and design liaison, mentoring junior members of the team, and leading a small team of developers. In 2009, Dean High joined Markit as a Director of Software Development, where they were responsible for collaboration services and analytics. In 2014, they moved to J.P. Morgan as Vice President and Senior Software Engineer, where they built and supported parts of the Gauss platform in the credit portfolio group. In 2016, they joined IHS Markit as Executive Director and Principal Engineer and Principal Architect, where they were responsible for building an Enterprise Knowledge Graph within OCTO group, managing a small team of engineers to POC concepts, design and architecture oversight of the graph pipeline and technologies, and product design and definition. Currently, Dean High is a Tech Lead at EHAB.

Dean High obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria between 1999 and 2002. In April of 2020, they also obtained a certification in Software Architecture: Domain-Driven Design from LinkedIn.
