Chris Gansauer, CPA

Chris Gansauer, CPA has over 14 years of experience in the finance and accounting industry. Chris currently serves as Director of Finance at Electric Hydrogen Co. Prior to this, they were Director, Finance and Money at NextCapital from 2018 to 2021. From 2016 to 2018, they were Sr. Accounting and Finance Manager at Lumere, where they led day-to-day financial operations, reporting, analysis and assisted in strategy development and execution. From 2015 to 2016, they were Managing Director & Founder at Daybreak Advisors, Inc., where they provided critical accounting and finance services for growing companies. From 2013 to 2015, they were Co-Founder & Co-Organizer at Illini Startups, where they coordinated monthly meetups, identified resources within Chicago and the University community, and facilitated a welcoming, open and honest environment. From 2011 to 2013, they were Team Lead - Commercial Quality Control at Fifth Third Bank, where they coached, trained and evaluated the performance of eight Commercial Quality Control Associates and determined and communicated the merit increase and bonus for team members to stay within budget. From 2009 to 2011, they were Vice President, Programming at the College of Business Young Alumni Committee. From 2007 to 2009, they were Supervising Senior Accountant at Legacy Professionals LLP, where they audited and prepared financial statements, related footnote disclosures, tax returns, as well as other regulatory reports.

Chris Gansauer, CPA obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Gies College of Business - University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 2002 and 2006. In 2007, they attended DePaul University in the field of Accountancy. In 2010 and 2011, they obtained a Certificate in Financial Decision-Making from the University of Chicago's Graham School of Continuing Studies. Prior to this, they attended Homewood-Flossmoor (aka HF) HS from 1998 to 2002. In 2008, they obtained their Certified Public Accountant certification from the Illinois Board of Examiners and they are also a PlanGuru Pro Advisor.
