Aidan McCormack

Engineer/scientist II at Electric Power Research Institute

Aidan McCormack is an experienced engineer and scientist currently serving as an Engineer/Scientist II at EPRI since November 2021, focusing on research and development of overhead transmission insulators and conductors, including evaluating the durability of various types of insulators and investigating spontaneous shattering in glass insulators. Prior to this role, Aidan worked as an Engineering Consultant for Commonwealth Fusion Systems, contributing to the design and development of fusion machines aimed at delivering clean energy. Aidan's earlier experience includes a researcher position at the National Science Foundation, where responsibilities included leading student researchers in Solid Oxide Fuel Cell research, and internships with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and the Port of San Francisco Engineering Division. Aidan holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Wake Forest University, obtained in 2021.
