Joey Giaramito

Project Manager - Fulfillment and Customer Success at Electrum

Joey Giaramito has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry and related fields. Joey started their career as a Summer Intern at the Sierra Club in 2011, where they worked on advocacy campaigns for renewable energy. In 2012, they served as a Program Assistant at the US Environmental Protection Agency, focusing on diversity and outreach in federal advisory committees.

In 2013, Joey worked as an International Teacher for AIESEC no Brasil, implementing the Gira Mundo project in favelas in Rio de Janeiro. Joey created and conducted workshops on sustainability, human rights, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility for disadvantaged youth.

Joey then transitioned to the solar industry, starting as a Solar Construction Intern at GRID Alternatives in 2015. Joey assisted in installing solar panels, trained volunteers, and maintained tools and inventory. Joey continued with GRID Alternatives as a SolarCorps Project Fellow, managing pre-design site surveys, permit coordination, and residential solar PV system design.

In 2017, Joey joined Solar Optimum, Inc as a Project Coordinator, and in 2018, they became a Sr. Project Coordinator at the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE). In these roles, they gained experience in project coordination and management.

Currently, Joey is a Project Manager - Fulfillment and Customer Success at Pick My Solar, a role they have held since November 2019.

Joey Giaramito completed their Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs, with a concentration in International Environmental Resources and a minor in Sustainability, at The George Washington University from 2010 to 2014. During their undergraduate studies, they also participated in a study abroad program focused on Sustainable Development Studies at The School for Field Studies in 2012 and took intensive Spanish language and culture courses at the University of Virginia in the same year.

In 2016, Joey attended Solar Energy International (SEI) to gain practical knowledge and skills in Solar PV Design and Installation. Joey also completed a certificate program in Urban Design at Universidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário Lisboa in 2019.

Joey is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Environmental Management at Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment, which they started in 2022 and is expected to complete in 2024. Additionally, they enrolled in UC San Diego Extended Studies in 2021, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
