Zachary Dookeran

Zachary Dookeran has been working in the scientific field since 2014 when they began as a Doctoral Student in Dr. David Nielsen's laboratory at Arizona State University. Their body of work mainly dealt with the metabolic engineering of cyanobacteria to produce lysine and derivative bioplastic monomers. In 2021, they began working as a Scientist at Codex DNA and is currently employed as a Senior Scientist at ELEGEN.

Zachary Dookeran attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2010 to 2014, graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering. Zachary then attended Arizona State University from 2014 to 2021, graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Metabolic Engineering / Synthetic Biology.
