Jon Newland

Jon Newland is a Senior Engineer and Research Scientist at Element Six since September 2016, focusing on characterizing and enhancing industrial methods for processing synthetic diamond, particularly in relation to material polishing and the production of defect-free diamond surfaces for quantum technology applications. Prior to this role, Jon Newland served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Warwick from October 2014 to September 2016, engaging in a collaborative Innovate UK project with Element Six to explore synthetic diamond processing, and developing electrochemical sensors. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in a relevant field, a Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry, and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, all obtained from the University of Warwick between 2006 and 2014.
