Erika Tsutsumi

Lead Integrations Solutions Architect at Elemental Machines

Erika Tsutsumi has a diverse work history that spans various industries. Erika began their career as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor for the City of Pleasanton from 2008 to 2010, where they supervised recreational swim and taught swim lessons to individuals and groups.

In 2011, Erika joined Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering as an HR Student Assistant and later took on the role of Research Assistant, where they worked on a vibrational energy harvesting project. Erika presented their work at the SPIE NDE/Smart Structures 2012 Conference.

Continuing their engineering pursuits, Erika interned at Boston Scientific as a Urology R&D Intern in 2012, before taking on various roles at different companies. These roles include being an Intern/Junior Electromechanical Engineer at Lantos Technologies from 2013 to 2014, a Print Process Intern at Formlabs in 2014, and an Associate Mechanical Engineer at CyPhy Works from 2014 to 2016.

Erika then joined TetraScience in 2016, where they worked as an Applications Engineer until 2021. During their time at TetraScience, they also took on the role of Field Engineering Manager from 2018 to 2021.

Most recently, Erika joined Elemental Machines in 2021 as an Integrations Project Manager, and is currently serving as an Adjunct Instructor at Boston University starting in 2023.

Erika Tsutsumi obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In 2012, Erika briefly attended International Christian University, where they focused on Japanese Language and International Relations.
