Maurice Smith

Maurice Smith is the Director of Finance and Controller at ElevateBio. Maurice has over 15 years of experience in the finance and accounting industry. Maurice began their career at Deloitte & Touche, where they worked for six years as a manager. Maurice then transitioned to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) as an Inspections Specialist, where they worked for five years. In 2014, Maurice joined Biogen as the Associate Director of R&D Finance, and they held this position for three years before moving to Akebia Therapeutics as the Director of Finance. Maurice spent two years at Akebia before joining ElevateBio in September 2019 as the Controller. In their current role, Maurice is responsible for the financial planning and analysis of the company.
