Cassandra Verhaegen has a diverse work experience across different industries and roles. Cassandra is currently working as an Educational Site Leader at ACCESS - Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services. In 2022, they were also a Teaching Artist at InsideOut Literary Arts and a Program Instructor at NO FEAR CAFE.
Prior to that, Cassandra worked as a Freelance Writer and Editor at Elite Editing in 2021. Cassandra was also self-employed as a Freelance Editor since 2017. In 2021, they were a Teaching Artist at Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit and a Social Media Ratings & Reviews Specialist at Premiere Response.
In 2020, Cassandra worked as a Ranch Hand at Hunter Ranch, where they managed conservation and grazing in sensitive riparian areas and performed various tasks on horseback. Cassandra also worked at Oregon State University from 2018 to 2020 as an Instructor and as a Paint Crew Member during the summer of 2019.
In 2018, they were a Campaign Specialist at Chicago Tribune Media Group. Overall, Cassandra has gained experience in education, writing, editing, ranching, marketing, and leadership roles throughout their career.
Cassandra Verhaegen pursued their Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Fiction from 2018 to 2020 at Oregon State University. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature, General from the University of Chicago from 2013 to 2017.
