Laurent Dumont

Laurent Dumont has a extensive work experience in the chemical industry. Laurent started their career as a chemist at Rhodia in 1997, and later held roles as an Application Development Manager. In 2004, they joined Bluestar Silicones/Rhodia Silicones as a Business Manager. In 2011, they moved to Chemtura Corporation as a Global Commercial Director of Organometallics. Laurent then joined Elkem ASA, where they served as a Business Unit and Strategic Marketing Director from 2014 to 2019. Laurent was then promoted to Business Development Director and later became the General Manager of Elkem Silicones France. Currently, Laurent is the Vice President Strategic Business at Elkem ASA, leading a multicultural team and overseeing various functions such as strategy development, business development, and commercial excellence.

Laurent Dumont attended MIT Sloan School of Management from 2023 to 2024, where they studied Artificial Intelligence and Business strategies implications. Prior to that, they pursued an Executive MBA from emlyon business school between 2006 and 2008, focusing on Marketing, Finance, Business Strategy, and Human Resources. In 2000, they completed a degree in Accounting from The College of Saint Rose. Laurent's education journey began with a Master of Science degree in Materials Science Engineering from Polytech Montpellier, which they obtained between 1995 and 1997.
