Shirley Bergin

Shirley Bergin is the Chief Innovation Officer at Ellipsis Health, where she leads the marketing and communications team as well as the internal innovation process. She brings 25+ years of leadership experience across a number of industries, with the last 15 years spent in healthcare. She has developed and executed innovative business and marketing strategies across a variety of verticals for start-ups and established firms alike, successfully reinventing and introducing brands and building large online communities. Prior to joining Ellipsis Health, Shirley led the TEDMED organization as its Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, where she worked to establish TEDMED as a credible, respected mission driven brand and platform for showcasing and sharing important advancements in health and medicine. She also served as the CMO of Walker Digital LLC, a private "Innovation and Development" laboratory, which is best known for inventing and launching Priceline.com. Shirley drove marketing and product design around the company's IP portfolio of 450 U.S. patents. Previously, she held leadership roles at D.L. Ryan Companies, a privately-owned marketing services agency, becoming a Partner, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the digital marketing division of the company before it was acquired. She started her career at Nutri-System Inc. moving to Cendant Corporation and Priceline.com.

Shirley supports innovation, technology and entrepreneurship in healthcare by serving as an advisor for start-ups and early stage companies. She has judged innovation competitions for MIT, AARP, MassChallenge and SXSW programs, is an advisor for StartUp Health, a venture backed investment platform dedicated to achieving health moonshots, and an independent board director for Tiber Health which is working to advance equity in access to quality medical school education. She earned a BA in Psychology and Zoology from The University of Texas at Austin.
