Ellipsis
Lindi Makohoniuk has extensive experience in arts-based facilitation and youth mentorship, currently serving as an Artist In Residence at Youth Emergency Services & Shelter (YESS) since January 2013, where Lindi creates safe spaces for youth in crisis through creative arts sessions. Former roles at YESS include Access Center Overnight Supervisor and Resident Advisor, focusing on resident safety, mentorship, and individual growth. Lindi has also worked as an Artist at Wine & Canvas, instructing large classes, and has a background in retail and volunteer coordination, including significant contributions to Trader Joe's and Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Africana Studies from Luther College, a Bachelor of Science in Global Resource Systems from Iowa State University, and prior studies in Fashion/Apparel Design at The Art Institutes.

Ellipsis
Mission: We help kids and families build healthy relationships so they can write their own story. Ellipsis brings together Youth Homes of Mid-America (YHMA) and Youth Emergency Services & Shelter (YESS), both storied Iowa institutions with long histories of helping kids succeed. As Ellipsis, we create a community where kids and families are valued, hopeful, healthy and together.
