Mike Sutjipto has a wealth of work experience, starting in 2007 as a Software Development Intern at UBS where they developed internal software used by financial investors to interface with clients. In 2008, they interned at Microsoft, where they updated portions of legacy Microsoft Office for Mac code and performed bug-fixes and minor feature additions to the scrapbook portion of Microsoft Word. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Math & Computer Science Teacher at School for Tomorrow, leading small classes through courses in pre-algebra, algebra I and II, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus, and teaching the school's first introductory, project-based programming class. During this time, they also worked as a Math and Computer Science Tutor at Mclean A+ Academy. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Freelance Web Developer and from 2015 to 2016, they were a Technical Lead at magnify360. In 2016, they worked as a Contract Engineer at Psyonix, helping with numerous backend and infra changes to facilitate the launch in China and designing and building out the backend for Rocket League's challenges system. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Senior Engineer at Rival Inc, where their primary focus was on launching their consumer-facing products. Mike worked closely with web, mobile, and other backend developers to build out the APIs and infra that powered their consumer-facing ticket purchasing funnel. Currently, they are a Staff Engineer at Elodie Games and a Senior Engineer at Metropolis.
Mike Sutjipto graduated from Cornell University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Mike then went on to Virginia Tech, where they earned a Master of Architecture in 2012.
