Johan Axel-Nilsson

Johan Axel-Nilsson is an experienced legal professional with a strong background in intellectual property and technology law. Currently serving as General Counsel at Embark Studios since February 2020, Johan previously held the role of General Counsel for Volvo Group Connected Solutions and provided legal counsel in IP matters for Volvo Group Trucks Technology. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Counsel at Electronic Arts, where legal support was provided to multiple software development studios, and working as an Associate at Mannheimer Swartling Advokatbyrå AB, focusing on IP-related agreements. Johan began the legal career with an internship at Bird & Bird and served as an Associate at the Center for Intellectual Property Studies, contributing to educational programs and supporting various projects. Johan holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Gothenburg.
