Deric Kempsell

Deric Kempsell has extensive experience in human resources, with a background in compliance, business partnering, and generalist roles. Deric is currently serving as the Director of Human Resources Compliance at EMCOR Group, Inc. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Human Resources at Spinal Elements.

Before their current roles, Kempsell worked as a Human Resources Business Partner at SCIEX, where they provided regional support to various California facilities and client groups. Deric played a key role in driving strategic HR initiatives and was recognized for their excellence in recruiting and onboarding support.

Kempsell also served as the Human Resources Manager at Dynalectric San Diego and held multiple human resources roles at Puma Biotechnology, Inc., including Senior HR Generalist and HR Coordinator.

Earlier in their career, they gained experience in talent development and management at W Hotels, and they worked as a Manager/Sommelier at INOX Restaurant and as a Manager at Chima Steakhouse.

Deric Kempsell, PHR, PHRca, MSHRM, has a comprehensive education background. Deric obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Southern California in 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Management from George Mason University - Costello College of Business in 2013. Deric Kempsell also holds an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Business Administration and Management from Northern Virginia Community College, completed in 2010. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications including PHR-Professional in Human Resources and PHRca-California Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Deric also holds the SHRM HR Assurance of Learning Certification from SHRM and has completed The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Leadership Training Program offered by FranklinCovey.
