Betania Glorio

Betania Glorio is the current Senior Vice President and Global Chief Compliance Officer at EMD Serono. Betania has held this position since April 2021.

Prior to their current role, Glorio served as the Global Head of Compliance for Healthcare at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany from August 2017 to April 2021.

Glorio has also served as the Senior Director of Legal and Compliance for EMEA at Horizon Pharma plc from October 2016 to July 2017 and at Raptor Pharmaceuticals from November 2014 to October 2016.

From October 2013 to February 2014, Glorio worked as the Senior Director of Compliance for EMEA at Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., an Amgen subsidiary.

Glorio began their career at Pfizer in February 2007 as the Regional Compliance Director for LATIN AMERICA and CANADA. Betania was promoted to Senior Counsel SOUTH-LATAM in June 2005 and Corporate Counsel in February 2011. In their most recent role at Pfizer, they served as the Senior Corporate Counsel and Regional Compliance Director for EUROPE and CANADA from February 2011 to September 2013.

Glorio received their law degree from Bruchou, Fernandez Madero, Lombardi & Mitrani in October 2004.

Betania Glorio has a Master of Laws from Seton Hall University School of Law, a Life Sciences Compliance Program from Seton Hall University School of Law, and a specialization in Corporate Law from Universidad de 'San Andrés'. Betania is also a lawyer from INSEAD and Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.

They work with Dan Van Horn - SVP Market Access & Patient Solutions, Libby Horne - SVP U.S. Fertility and HIV/Endocrinology, and Lisa Walsh - Regional Controller. Betania Glorio reports to Chris Round, President of EMD Serono.
