Network Administrator

Operations · Full-time · Austin, United States

Job description

The Emerald Cloud Laboratory (ECL) enables life scientists to move out of the lab, and to conduct research entirely from a computer. Stepping away from manual completion of experiments at the bench, scientists on the ECL leverage the remote, automated execution of all standard biology and chemistry experiments in Emerald’s industrial lab facilities, working within a software platform for all stages of research workflows, from experimental design to data analysis. Our system empowers scientists at Big Pharma companies, startups, and academic laboratories by allowing them to run wet lab experiments from anywhere in the world without ever stepping foot into the lab. This is where you come in

  • Implement and maintain robust firewall configurations to safeguard our network environment.

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

  • Leverage Windows DNS and DHCP services for efficient network resource allocation.

  • Harden network security through best practices in role based access control, vulnerability management, and patch deployment.

  • Manage and monitor on-premises and cloud-based network resources, including gateways, internet gateways, and network access controls (NACs) for optimal performance and security.

  • Document network configurations and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain consistency.

  • Stay up-to-date on emerging network technologies and security threats.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • CCNA certification or equivalent networking experience.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (or equivalent) certification.

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl) for network automation.

  • Proven experience in network administration with a focus on design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
