Maryam Asadi

Maryam Asadi is an accomplished investment manager and sector specialist with a strong background in bioengineering and materials science. Currently serving at Emerald Technology Ventures since May 2021, Maryam has held roles including Investment Manager, Open Innovation Program Manager, and Technology Analyst. Prior experience includes a position as Research Associate at Qvella Corporation and laboratory engineering at the University of Ottawa, where design and engineering of 3D ECM-mimicking scaffolds for cancer research were key responsibilities. Maryam also contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Ottawa and as a Visiting Researcher at Cornell University. Early academic and research experiences include serving as a Research Assistant at Amirkabir University of Technology, where collaboration in advanced materials research occurred. Maryam holds a Master of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology.
