ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
Emerald Youth Foundation is a Christian, urban youth and community ministry in Knoxville, TN serving over 3,000 young people annually. Emerald Youth’s ministry is implemented through a network of churches and faith-based organizations to raise up a large number of urban youth who love Jesus Christ and become effective leaders who help renew their communities.

JOB TITLE: Marketing & Communications Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing & Communications

STATUS: Full-time

POSITION SUMMARY: Under leadership of the Director of Marketing & Communications, and working closely with the Associate Director, coordinate and support the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the organization’s comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. Through the guidance of the Director, the position will also work with other EYF departments as needed (Human Resources, Executive Office, Program/Operations, etc.) to complete projects and achieve various departmental marketing and communications goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Write and proof content for fundraising proposals, reports, event collateral, social media, etc.
  • Capture pictures and video for social media, website, and other uses
  • Work with external entities and vendors to schedule photo/video shoots, fulfill graphic design needs, complete sponsorship needs, order awards, etc.
  • Assist in the gathering of content, writing, and planning/implementing email campaigns
  • Maintain and update website content
  • Create basic graphic design projects using Canva (experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop preferred)
  • Maintain media contact list and media mentions/tracking list
  • Provide event support, i.e. contact with vendors, assisting with decor/setup/teardown, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of team-specific office supplies, collateral, promotional items, apparel, etc.
  • Order business cards and other HR-related items as needed for new hires, volunteers, etc.
  • Help plan and implement visits and ministry tours for donors, sponsors, and other external collaborators
  • Maintain and organize digital media files, including photos, video and audio
  • Help maintain content calendar and scheduling of social media
  • Collaborate daily with team members across the organization on a variety of projects including print, digital, signage, and other types of media to achieve department objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for the mission of Emerald Youth Foundation; connected to a church community; possesses a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and high moral standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Preferred 3-5 years’ professional work experience
  • Helpful to have background serving with children/youth in some capacity and/or basic understanding of various sports/athletic programming
  • Confident communicator and presenter
  • Excellent writing skills – experience with Associated Press style helpful, but not necessary
  • Editing, proofreading, layout and design, and professional printing/publishing skills helpful
  • Working knowledge/understanding using platforms such as Canva, Adobe products, Microsoft Office suite, etc.
  • Skilled in a variety of digital and social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, and Squarespace
  • Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, open office setting
