Joanna Fares PhD has held a variety of roles in the field of pharmacology and drug discovery. Joanna began their career in 2007 as a Research Intern at Lombardi Cancer Center. In 2009, they took on a Doctoral Researcher role at the National Cancer Institute. In 2014, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at Institut Paoli-Calmettes. From 2016 to 2022, they were a Senior Scientist and Senior Project Manager at Innate Pharma. Currently, they are the Pharmacology & Safety Manager at Emergence Therapeutics.
Joanna Fares obtained their French Baccalaureate in Life Sciences from College Notre Dame de Jamhour between 1995 and 2003. Joanna then went on to earn their BS in Biology from Universite Saint Joseph between 2003 and 2006. In 2006, they also obtained their Master of Science - MS (Dual Degree) in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Finally, they earned their PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology from Georgetown University School of Medicine between 2007 and 2012. In April 2021, they also obtained the certification "Maya: Fundamentals of Medical Animations" from LinkedIn.
