Daniel Hill

Director - Product Development Technical Lead at Emergent BioSolutions

Daniel Hill has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. From 2010 to 2017, they worked at Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC as a Principal Chemist, where they developed API processes and managed external CRO efforts. Daniel also directed chemical reactivity and structure-based expertise across departments.

In 2017, Daniel joined Emergent BioSolutions as a Principal Scientist, where they headed organic synthesis, drug discovery, and drug development. Daniel managed external CRO teams and contributed to the discovery and development of API processes. From 2019 to 2022, they served as a Director at Emergent BioSolutions, where they managed autoinjector programs and assisted external CROs in developing and validating analytical methods.

Currently, Daniel holds the position of Director - Product Development Technical Lead at Emergent BioSolutions. Daniel develops strategies, coordinates product development plans, and oversees various activities related to drug manufacturing, engineering, and regulatory affairs.

Daniel Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Southern Maine. Daniel then pursued a Doctor of Philosphy in Organic Chemistry, specializing in Polyamine Macrocycles, from the University of New Hampshire. Following this, they gained further expertise by becoming a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, focusing on Organic Chemistry, specifically Carbohydrate Synthesis and Nitrene and Aziridine Methodology Development.
