Kristin McKenney joins the Emerson Lions staff with nearly 10 years of athletic training experience, most recently spending the last four years with Wheelock College.
For the four years as a member of the Wildcats staff, McKenney provided athletic services for 11 teams and three clubs at Wheelock. McKenney was responsible for creating a streamlined process for clearing athletes to participate while also implementing a computer-based system for those athletes.
McKenney got her start in the Midwest, spending the first three years of her career between Minnesota and Colorado, including a stint with the United States Fencing Association Junior Olympic Team.
McKenney is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and also certified in AED and CPR. In her career, she also has two publications and presentations, one on Treatment for Orthopaedic Conditions and the other based on treatments surrounding Orthopaedic Conditions, specifically, Myofascial Release.
McKenney was a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minn., earning her Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training. She completed her Masters of Science in Athletic Training in 2010 from the Universit of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
