Nic Pittman

Nic Pittman, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning several industries.

From 2021 onwards, Nic has been working at Emmi, a carbon, finance, and tech startup. In this role, Nic serves as a Data Scientist, Researcher, and Python programmer. They estimate corporate carbon emissions from financial data and specialize in Climate Scenario analysis.

Prior to Emmi, Nic worked as a PhD Candidate at the University of Tasmania from 2018 to 2022. Their research focused on understanding carbon cycles within the equatorial Pacific Ocean. Nic utilized advanced computing infrastructure and analyzed various environmental datasets to investigate climate variability and biogeochemistry.

Before pursuing their PhD, Nic worked as a Tour Guide at Tasmanian Walking Company from 2017 to 2021. They led hiking trips along the Overland Track, providing hospitality services, interpreting the local environment, and cooking meals for guests.
