Carla Smach

Carla Smach is a Nursing Instructor at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University and a Clinical Nurse at the Emory Proton Therapy Center, both roles held since January 2023. Previously, Carla served as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Emory Healthcare from June 2018 to January 2023, focusing on Head & Neck Surgery, General Surgery, and Bariatrics. Prior experience includes being an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and a Clinical Nurse at Penn Medicine, where responsibilities included serving as charge nurse and evidence-based practice champion. Carla holds a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Adult/Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science, both from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Florida.
