Feng Zhai

Feng Zhai currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Emory University, following a postdoctoral research tenure at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from July 2017 to July 2022, where Feng worked under the guidance of Professors Christopher Cummins and Richard Schrock. Notable research achievements include the development of new chemical routes for sustainable phosphorus production and the synthesis of high-oxidation-state molybdenum oxo alkylidene complexes, which are promising for alkene metathesis catalysis. Additionally, Feng has experience mentoring undergraduate students and has actively contributed to the research group's safety initiatives since 2019. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Chemistry from Peking University, complemented by participation in teaching workshops aimed at inclusive education.
