Kristen Barry

Kristen Barry is the Senior Director of Research & Strategy at EmployIndy. Kristen has over 9 years of experience in workforce development and public policy.

Kristen began their career as a Research Assistant at Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs, where they worked on projects for the Teaching and Learning, Public Finance and Policy Analysis, and Governance and Management faculty groups. Kristen then spent a year as a Budget and Financial Analyst at the Indiana Department of Workforce Development before taking a position as Development Officer at Stone Belt ARC.

In September 2012, Kristen joined Thomas P. Miller & Associates as the Director of Workforce Solutions. In this role, they oversaw the development and implementation of workforce strategies for clients in the public and private sector. Kristen left Thomas P. Miller & Associates in January 2021 to join EmployIndy as Senior Director of Research & Strategy.

Kristen Barry graduated from Carroll High School and then went on to study at Indiana University Bloomington, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs - Nonprofit Management, Religious Studies. Kristen then pursued a Master of Public Administration at Indiana University Bloomington, specializing in Economic Development and Policy Analysis.

Their manager is Marie Mackintosh, Chief Strategy Officer.
