Bryan McVey

Bryan McVey has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Bryan began their career in 2006 as an Engineering Intern at VIASYS Healthcare, where they worked on product design for a mounting bracket component of a surgical helmet and validation of nasoenteric feeding tube designs and placement software. In 2008, they joined Caterpillar Inc. and held various roles such as Design Engineer, CNC Machinist, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Design Specialist, Hydraulics Carryover Resolution Solutions Engineer, and Gear Pumps Manufacturing Engineer. In 2021, they co-founded Ordino LLC, where they created a business from Northwestern's Engineering Masters thesis capstone project, co-owned and consulted product design and development in the home fitness and furniture industries, created a business plan and budget for product launch in 2023, and researched, designed, patented and created legal licensing agreement with manufacturer to produce the company's flagship product. Currently, Bryan is a Product Manager at Emporia, where they are leading the collaboration process of bringing to market a bi-directional electric vehicle to grid/home supply equipment (V2X EVSE) charger in order to better utilize renewable energy in one's home.

Bryan McVey attended Buffalo Grove High School from 2000 to 2004. Bryan then went on to Virginia Tech, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2008. In 2009, Bryan obtained a 6 Sigma Green Belt from Caterpillar. Bryan then attended Northwestern University from 2019 to 2021, where they earned a Master of Engineering in MPD2 - Masters of Product Design and Development Managment.
