Madeleine Karydes has been in the workforce since 2013. Madeleine started their career at San Dieguito Tennis Club as a Shift Lead and Sales Associate, where they were the sole point-of-contact on each designated shift and handled customer service, equipment sales, and oversight for the 5-acre grounds. In 2014, they became the Senior Director at UC Berkeley's student-run speech team, where they ran the club meetings and events, organized inter-collegiate educational workshops, and coached teammates. During their two years in this role, the team was able to qualify for and participate in highly-competitive national championships for 4 straight years against staff-coached teams. Madeleine also competed in regional and state tournaments in California, ranking top amongst them in limited preparation speaking, persuasive speaking, and literature analysis and interpretation. In 2016, they joined BBA Solutions as a Textbooks Supervisor, where they managed a team of 5-10 student employees, procured and delivered textbooks for several hundred athletes under academic scholarship, and organized quarterly returns and oversaw accounting projects that saved up to 25% of textbook inventory expenditure each term. In 2019, they joined Empowerly as a Content Editor and Growth Associate. In their role as Content Editor, they created quality content to drive conversions on the blog and newsletter channels and researched and revised outbound content in addition to managing the internal publication schedule. As a Growth Associate, they edited more than 700 blog articles for publication and created an extensive set of Content Guides, both of which helped drive a 232% increase in consults from organic search results. Madeleine also gained hands-on experience planning informational presentations, as well as writing for various brand platforms (social media, radio, blog, ad campaigns, website, email).
Madeleine Karydes obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Media Studies and English from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018. Madeleine previously obtained their High School Diploma from San Dieguito Academy High School in 2014.
