Senior Research Associate at Encoded Therapeutics

Sawyer Randles has a diverse work experience in the field of research. They began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where they conducted experiments on stress tolerance in mussels and collected data on Kelletia kelletii. They then worked as a Team Biologist at Drosophila Comparative Genomics, collaborating with students from different disciplines to study the genetic content of fruit flies.

Afterwards, Sawyer joined Stanford University School of Medicine as a Systems Neuroscience Research Assistant in the Deisseroth Lab, where they performed behavioral assays, conducted stereotaxic surgery, and maintained primary neuron cultures. Currently, Sawyer is working at Encoded Therapeutics Inc. as a Senior Research Associate, where they optimize gene expression assays and develop viability assays for potential therapeutic candidates.

Sawyer Randles received a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 2018. Prior to that, they attended Woodcreek High School from 2010 to 2014. In addition, Sawyer obtained a certification as an Open Water Diver from PADI in October 2016.
