Zongxiang Zhou

Principal Scientist at Encodia

Zongxiang Zhou has a strong background in scientific research and drug discovery. Zongxiang is currently working at Encodia, Inc., where they started as a Senior Scientist in November 2017 and now holds the position of Principal Scientist. Before joining Encodia, Inc., they were a Senior Scientist at Bionano Genomics, Inc. from January 2017 to October 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Scientist at C&C Biopharma from October 2012 to December 2016, where they developed various biochemical and cell-based assays for drug discovery projects and conducted SAR and MOA studies. Zongxiang also independently set up an mRNA display platform and constructed a high-complexity DNA library for protein binding studies. Zongxiang further purified proteins using different affinity beads and FPLC. Before joining C&C Biopharma, Zhou was an Institute Fellow at GNF from June 2009 to September 2012. Zongxiang began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Cornell University in January 2002, where they designed and developed genetically engineered mouse models of prostate and breast cancer. Zongxiang also characterized these cancer models using various molecular techniques and investigated tumor initiation and progression.

Zongxiang Zhou holds a Ph.D in Molecular Genetics from Fudan University. Zongxiang also earned a Master's degree in Molecular Genetics from the same institution. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Sichuan University, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics.
