Rod Walton

Rod Walton has extensive experience in the field of energy journalism. Rod is currently serving as the Managing Editor at Microgrid Knowledge since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Editor at Energy Tech and Endeavor Business Media from November 2021.

Before joining Endeavor Business Media, Rod held the position of Content Editor at Power Engineering and POWER-GEN International from July 2018 to November 2021. Rod was responsible for overseeing content related to the electric T&D sector.

Rod's career in energy journalism began in 1993 when they joined the Tulsa World Media Company as a Business Editor, Energy Beat Writer, State Writer, and Assistant City Editor. Rod worked there until July 2015.

Prior to their tenure at Tulsa World, Rod served as an Editor and Reporter at Wagoner Tribune from November 1991 to August 1993. Rod started their professional career as a Sports Editor and Sports Writer at Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise in September 1986, where they worked until October 1991.

In 2015, Rod joined PennWell as a Senior Editor, where they held the responsibility of writing for and editing the monthly POWERGRID International magazine and bi-weekly Electric Light & Power Executive Digest. Rod'scoverage included various aspects of the electric T&D sector such as smart grid, infrastructure, metering, and renewables. Rod stayed with PennWell until November 2021 before moving to Endeavor Business Media.

Rod Walton attended the University of Oklahoma from 1981 to 1986, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Journalism-Professional Writing. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the same university, although the specific dates for this degree are not provided.
