George Porter has extensive work experience in the energy industry. George started their career at Énergie NB Power in 1989 and held various roles until 2004. George then joined the New Brunswick System Operator as Director of Market Development from 2004 to 2011. George returned to Énergie NB Power in 2011 and held several positions including Director Grid Development and Utilization, Director Rates Modernization, Strategic Project Director, and currently serves as Director Rates, Regulatory, and Compliance.
George Porter completed their education as follows:
- From 1990 to 1997, they attended the University of New Brunswick, where they earned a Master of Business Administration degree.
- Prior to that, they studied at the Technical University of Nova Scotia from 1986 to 1989, obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.
- From 1983 to 1986, George pursued their undergraduate studies at Mount Allison University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and Physics.
