Vishnu Ram has a diverse range of work experience in the power and energy industry. Vishnu started their career as an Electrical Power Engineer at Interlink Power, where they delivered projects in Australia, Asia, Africa, South Pacific, and the UAE. During this time, they worked on notable projects such as the Bolivar WWTP Allison Gas Turbine Package Refurbishment and the South Headland Power Station GE Gas Turbine TM 2500's I&C Works.
Following their time at Interlink Power, Vishnu worked at Territory Generation in various roles, including Assets Electrical Engineer in the Southern Region and Project Manager at the Channel Island Power Station. Vishnu also served as a Project Manager in Engineering Support at Power and Water Corporation on a secondment role.
Vishnu then joined GPA Engineering as a Senior Electrical Engineer in Power Engineering for the SA-Adelaide region. Vishnu later became a Senior Project Engineer in the Northern Territory, focusing on Power and Energy projects.
Most recently, Vishnu worked at Yurika as a Senior Project Engineer, leading the design and delivery of projects such as the Pine Gap project and the Lake Julius substation upgrade project.
Currently, Vishnu is employed at Energy Queensland as a Team Lead and Senior Substation Design Engineer.
Vishnu Ram has a strong educational background in electrical engineering. Vishnu obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anna University in 2010. Vishnu then pursued further education at the University of South Australia, where they completed a Graduate Diploma in Professional Practice in Electrical Power Engineering in 2011. In the same year, they also obtained a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of South Australia.
In addition to their formal education, Vishnu Ram has attained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Vishnu became a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland through The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland in June 2020. Vishnu also earned the title of Chartered Professional Engineer from Engineers Australia in May 2020 and is listed on the National Engineering Register. Furthermore, they have obtained certifications in areas such as maintenance planning and scheduling excellence, IEC 61850 basics, application, and testing, power system protection and testing with Omicron Test Universe, and the use of ETAP software for electrical transient and analysis program. Additionally, Vishnu Ram has completed training in electrical equipment in hazardous areas and GE Gas Turbines (TM2500) operations and maintenance.
