Derek Okada

Derek Okada is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in energy efficiency and strategic planning. Currently serving as a Senior Fellow at Energy Solutions since January 2023, Derek provides leadership on decarbonization programs and strategic guidance for clean energy technology adoption. Previously, Derek held various senior management roles at Southern California Edison from 2008 to 2022, managing teams and overseeing energy efficiency and demand-side management programs. With earlier experience at Los Angeles Times, Ingram Micro, Toyota, Arthur Andersen LLP, and Simpson & Company, Derek has demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, financial analysis, and operational audits. Derek holds a Master of Arts in Economic Regulation from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA.
