Abdulkarim Ahmed

Abdulkarim Ahmed has a strong background in monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning. Abdulkarim currently holds the position of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Coordinator at EngenderHealth since March 2022. Prior to this, Abdulkarim worked at Save the Children International, where they served as a Roving MEAL Coordinator from July 2021 to March 2022 and as a Humanitarian MEAL Officer from June 2020 to July 2021.

Before joining Save the Children International, they worked as a MEAL Officer from April 2018 to December 2019 and as a Data Assistant from September 2015 to April 2018. Abdulkarim also gained valuable experience at the DFID funded Health and Demographic Surveillance System, where they held the roles of Data Assistant from January 2012 to September 2015 and Data Entry Clerk from April 2010 to December 2011.

Abdulkarim Ahmed's education history includes a Master's degree in Information Management from Ahmadu Bello University, which they started in 2022. Abdulkarim also pursued a Master's degree in Humanitarian Aid and Cooperation at the Kalu Institute of Humanitarian Aid Studies Centre in Spain, also starting in 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Abdulkarim has obtained various certifications. In November 2022, they completed the "Critical Thinking Skills for the Professional" course offered by Coursera. In September 2022, they completed a course on "Emotional and Social Intelligence" at the University of California, Davis. In March 2022, they obtained certifications in "Introduction to Proposal and Report Writing" and "Responsible Data Management in Emergencies" from Save the Children. In December 2021, they obtained the "Safeguarding Essentials" certification from Save the Children International.

Prior to these, Abdulkarim attained certifications in different areas. In April 2021, they completed the "Advancing the Role of Women in Politics, Peace and Security, and Economic Institutions" program from the YALI Network. In August 2020, they obtained the "Management Strategies for People and Resources" certification through the YALI Network. In June 2020, they completed the "Fundamentals of Global Health Research" course at the University of Washington, along with the "Introduction to Epidemiology for Global Health" course in April 2020. In June 2019, they attained certifications in "Fundamentals of Grant Writing" and "Workforce Collaboration and Development" from the YALI Network, as well as the "MEAL DPro: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning for Development Professionals" certification from the Humanitarian Leadership Academy. Additionally, they obtained the "Project Management Professional (PMP)" certification from Project & Safety Management Professional Consulting in April 2018.
