John Prime

Director, Computational Biology at Engitix Therapeutics

John Prime has extensive experience in the field of bioinformatics and data analysis. John began their career in 1998 as a Grade A Clinical Scientist (Short-term contract) at the Public Health Laboratory Service (PHLS) in Reading and Oxford. In 2000, they became a Scientist at the LRF immunodiagnostics unit, Nuffield Dept. of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, University of Oxford. John also worked as a Scientist / Activity Leader with R & D at Amersham Biosciences. From 2003 to 2006, they were a Senior Scientist at KuDOS Pharmaceuticals Ltd, and then progressed to become Head of Biomics and Biomics Team Leader at KuDOS Pharmaceuticals - AstraZeneca. In 2010, they became the Head of Oncology Research Biomics at MedImmune. In 2017, they were a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist and site lead at Horizon Discovery, as well as Chief Bioinformatics Officer and Co-Founder at DeepLyTx Research Group. Since 2016, they have been a Principal Consultant at OncoBioinformatics Consulting, and in 2021 they became the Director of Computational Biology at Engitix Therapeutics.

John Prime obtained their PhD in Liver Cancer Genetics from Oxford Brookes University between 1995 and 2000. In October 2020, they obtained a certification in Learning the R Tidyverse from LinkedIn. John is also currently pursuing a certification in Machine Learning Practitioner from Cambridge Coding Academy.
