David McIlwaine

David Mcilwaine is an experienced sports performance professional, currently serving as the Lead Physical Performance Coach at Sussex Cricket since October 2017, with additional roles including Physical Performance Coach & Rehab Lead and S&C Lead for the Boys Pathway. Mcilwaine also holds the position of Head Coach at Brighton Blues and operates as a U19 Physical Preparation Coach Consultant for the England & Wales Cricket Board since September 2022. Previous experience includes coaching roles at various sports academies, including the Leeds Force basketball academy as Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach, and internships at Leeds Beckett University and Yorkshire clubs. Mcilwaine earned a Master of Science degree in Strength & Conditioning from Leeds Beckett University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Science from Ulster University.
