J.R. Liston

J.R. Liston has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. J.R. started their career as an Editor/Staff Writer at North County Times, where they focused on editing and designing sports sections. J.R. then moved on to Portsmouth Daily Times as a News Editor, where they led daily news budget meetings and delegated workload to meet deadlines.

Following this, J.R. worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Shawnee State University, teaching biology courses for science majors and non-majors. J.R. also taught a course called Scientific Ways of Knowing.

J.R. then transitioned to Wellston City Schools, where they served as a Biology Teacher and taught sophomore Biology, Genetics/Evolution, and Science in the News. J.R. was also involved in extracurricular activities such as coaching Varsity Golf and 7/8th grade boys basketball teams.

Afterwards, J.R. joined Circleville High School as a Science Teacher, specializing in Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science. J.R. also coached the varsity boys golf and freshman boys basketball teams.

J.R. then shifted their career focus to finance, joining the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America - Central Ohio Agency as a Financial Specialist. In this role, they assisted individuals, families, and businesses in financial organization, risk management, and goal achievement. J.R. utilized financial strategies and a wealth organizational platform called The Living Balance Sheet®.

Continuing in the sales field, J.R. served as a Beer Director at The Hills Market, where they managed and curated the beer selection. J.R. then became a Brewery Ambassador for Elevator Brewing Co., representing the brewery in both wholesale and retail sales.

More recently, J.R. worked as a Proshop Manager at Cooks Creek Golf Club, overseeing the daily operations of the proshop. Currently, they hold the position of Sales Representative at Englert Inc.

Overall, J.R. Liston has gained extensive experience in teaching, editing, sales, and finance throughout their career.

J.R. Liston completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry at Wilmington College, where they studied from 1989 to 1993. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Miami University from 1993 to 1998. During this time, they were enrolled in a program to obtain an ABD (All But Dissertation) degree in Molecular Biology, Evolutionary Biology, and Microbiology.
