Domenico Giani serves on the Board of Directors for the Transnational Crime Committee at the International Association of Chiefs of Police since January 2023 and is currently the President of the Confederazione delle Misericordie d'Italia, which is one of the oldest and largest federations of charitable organizations in Italy. Giani has held the position of President at the Eni Foundation since September 2020, focusing on health and community development projects in various countries. Previously, Giani was the Commander of the Gendarmerie of the Vatican City State from February 1999 to November 2019, overseeing security and civil protection services. Additionally, Giani served as a Visiting Professor at the University of L'Aquila and accumulated extensive experience in judicial police with the Guardia di Finanza, specializing in crimes against public administration and organized crime. Educational qualifications include advanced degrees in Pedagogy and Economic Security Sciences from the University of Siena and University of Rome Tor Vergata.
