Lucas Govert

Lucas Govert has a diverse work experience that includes roles in the biotechnology and healthcare industries, as well as environmental conservation and public service.

Lucas started their career as an Invasive Species Removal Crew member for the Town of Frye Island's Public Works department in 2015. Lucas also worked as a Crew member for the Frye Island Ferry Service, serving as a deckhand and ticketing agent during the summer seasons from 2015 to 2016.

In 2014, Lucas worked for the University of Maine's Dining Services as a Dining Crew member, where they were involved in food preparation, point-of-sale service, and general maintenance. This position was part of a student employee work-study program.

During their time with the 7 Lakes Alliance, a non-profit organization focusing on land and freshwater conservation, Lucas worked as a GIS Specialist. Lucas played a role in preparing visual aids and map documents for conservation efforts and surveying benthic areas of lakes for invasive species. Lucas also assisted in public education and outreach programs.

In 2019, Lucas worked as a Land and Energy Development Consultant for Sustainable Strategies 2050. In this role, they utilized GIS software for site evaluation and maintained data for GIS platforms. Lucas also provided environmental and physical constraints to development projects.

Lucas's work in the biotechnology and healthcare industries includes roles at Lonza, Homology Medicines, Inc., Oxford Biomedica Solutions, and EnPlusOne Biosciences. At Lonza, they served as a Biotechnology Manufacturing Associate II, responsible for manufacturing therapeutic proteins under cGMP conditions. Lucas was an early team member at an mRNA production facility contracted for Covid-19 vaccine production. Lucas also demonstrated a strong understanding of cGMP compliance and technical writing skills.

At Homology Medicines, Inc., Lucas worked as a Research Associate and Manufacturing Technician II. Lucas'sresponsibilities included conducting research and assisting in manufacturing operations.

At Oxford Biomedica Solutions, Lucas held the position of Research Associate, Pilot, where they were involved in pilot-scale research projects.

Currently, Lucas is working as an Associate Scientist II at EnPlusOne Biosciences, focusing on scientific research and development.

Lucas Govert attended the University of Maine from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Ecology & Environmental Science. Lucas'sfield of study during this time included Sustainability, Environmental Policy, & Natural Resource Management. In 2019, Lucas attended the Eagle Hill Institute, although the degree obtained is not specified. Lucas'sfield of study at Eagle Hill Institute was Wetland Identification, Delineation, and Ecology. In addition to their formal education, Lucas Govert has obtained several certifications, including Investigations and CAPA from PathWise in August 2021, OOS investigation from PathWise in August 2021, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) from the Management & Strategy Institute in June 2021, Six Sigma Champion from the Management & Strategy Institute in June 2021, and Technical Writing Principles from PathWise in June 2021.
