Humberto Fernandez

Humberto Fernandez has a diverse range of work experience spanning over two decades. Humberto most recently worked as the Director of Field Services at ENSCO, Inc. where they managed the supply of advanced railway track inspection technology worldwide. Humberto led system installations on railway vehicles and ensured safety and efficient operations.

Prior to that, Humberto worked at Oceaneering International GmbH as an ROV Sub Engineer and Night Shift Supervisor. Humberto led and managed a high performing team in offshore ROV operations, overseeing safety and efficiency. Humberto reported improvements or weaknesses in procedures and equipment and ensured all ROV operations were performed appropriately.

Humberto also worked at SSIIE as an Engineering Manager, where they managed the design, installation, and configuration of perimeter and pipeline security systems. Humberto successfully negotiated and sold a security system for the protection of 160 km of pipeline and oversaw the design and installation of the Pipeline Security System (Secure Pipe).

Before that, they worked as an ROV Sub Engineer at Oceaneering, where they piloted and maintained ROV systems and carried out survey, inspection, or work tasks for clients at offshore work locations.

Humberto also has experience as a Field Engineer at Integrated Control Systems and Marine Services, where they designed, installed, and configured optical fiber cable sensor-based perimeter and pipeline security systems. Humberto actively collaborated in the negotiation and sale of security systems for the protection of pipelines and perimeters.

Earlier in their career, Humberto worked as a Senior System Engineer at Advanced Digital Communications, where they designed, developed, and implemented hardware and software for subaquatic archeology research. Humberto also programmed PIC Microcontrollers used in the interface of mini-submersibles.

Humberto began their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Instituto Cibernética Matemáticas y Física, where they developed software for monitoring automation and control experiments in a virtual laboratory. Humberto also managed network installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Humberto Fernandez has an extensive education history. Humberto obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Automation and Control Engineering from the Instituto Superior Politecnico Jose A. Echeverria, where they studied from 1992 to 1997. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Informatics at the same institution, completing the program from 1998 to 2003.

In addition to their formal education, Humberto Fernandez has also obtained several certifications. In September 2016, they completed C++ Essential Training and Up and Running with C++ courses from Lynda.com. In April 2015, they received the Electrical Safety and Awareness HV Certificate from Oceaneering. Furthermore, they obtained a Working at Heights certification from Oceaneering in October 2014. Lastly, they completed the BOSIET - OPITO Approved training course from Occupational Safety Training, Inc. in May 2013.
