Courtney Mercadante

Courtney Mercadante, Ph.D., is a Scientist II at Ensoma, specializing in hemoglobinopathies since April 2021, and previously held the position of Scientist I at the same company. Prior to Ensoma, Courtney worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Bioverativ, a Sanofi company, from December 2019 to April 2021, focusing on the complement system's role in sickle cell disease pathology. Courtney earned a Ph.D. in Pathobiology-Environmental Toxicology from Brown University in 2019, with a thesis on metal homeostasis using rodent models. Earlier experiences include internships at Smithers Viscient and involvement in fundraising data organization for Bridgewater State University, where Courtney also completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
