Jonathan Skufca

Jonathan Skufca has a diverse work experience ranging from roles in IP protection and security to various internships and part-time positions. Currently, they are employed at the Entertainment Software Association as a Senior Analyst in IP Protection & Security since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Analyst in the same field at the same company from August 2020 to March 2023.

Jonathan also worked as a Trademark Docketing Specialist at Arent Fox from August 2018 to July 2020. Additionally, they gained legal experience as a Legal Intern in Licensing & Enforcement at SoundExchange from February 2018 to May 2018.

In terms of their undergraduate years, Jonathan served as a Staff Writer at WVAU Internet Radio from September 2014 to May 2018. Jonathan also held the role of Desk Receptionist at American University Housing & Residence Life, where they addressed concerns, executed check-in/out procedures, and managed package distribution for residents and guests from August 2016 to February 2018.

Furthermore, Jonathan gained marketing experience as a Fillmore Marketing Brand Ambassador at Live Nation, where they created partnerships, distributed promotional materials, and collected attendee data during a brief period in June 2017 to August 2017.

During their earlier years, Jonathan was involved in music and art-related roles. Jonathan served as the Principal Trombone player in the Johnstown Reed Band from June 2014 to August 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Student Gallery Attendant at the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center, where they directed patrons, interpreted art installations, and maintained the security of museum installations from September 2015 to May 2016.

Furthermore, Jonathan contributed to community development as a Youth Philanthropy Intern at the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies. Here, they conducted site visits, drafted grants, and awarded a grant to a local non-profit to combat food insecurity during June 2014 to August 2014.

Lastly, Jonathan gained exposure to conservation and tourism as a Youth Conservation Corps Crew member at the National Park Service. Jonathan assisted in park and garden maintenance, gave tours, and redesigned the Junior Ranger program from June 2013 to July 2013.

Jonathan Skufca attended Greater Johnstown Senior High School from 2010 to 2014, where they completed the Arts & Communications Academy program and received a High School Diploma. Following high school, from 2014 to 2018, they pursued higher education at American University. During their time there, Jonathan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Entertainment, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music.

In addition to their formal education, Jonathan Skufca also obtained several certifications. In August 2020, they completed the SEC 487: Open Source Intelligence Gathering and Analysis course offered by the SANS Institute. In March 2022, they obtained a Certified Open Source Intelligence certification from the McAfee Institute. Lastly, in March 2023, Jonathan attained the Certified Social Media Intelligence Expert certification, also from the McAfee Institute.
