Chunmei Zhao

Chunmei Zhao has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of biology and therapeutics. Starting in 1996, they worked as a Research Assistant at Indiana University School of Medicine, where they identified a novel adaptor protein in the Ras/MAPK pathway. Chunmei then moved to Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute as a Research Assistant, where they identified a novel Rho family GAP and its interactions with the protein tyrosine phosphatase Shp-2 pathway.

In 2002, Zhao joined the Salk Institute for Biological Studies as a Postdoctoral Researcher and later became a Staff Researcher. During their time there, they contributed to various research projects and gained valuable expertise.

In 2012, they joined Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. as a Research Scientist and steadily progressed to the role of Senior Research Scientist III & Line Manager. Zhao's responsibilities included leading a team, conducting research, and contributing to the company's scientific advancements.

In 2020, they shifted their career to Mabwell Therapeutics Inc as an Associate Director, focusing on drug development and therapeutic strategies. Chunmei subsequently joined Pfenex Inc as a Senior Scientist before taking up the role of Associate Director at Iambic Therapeutics in 2021.

Currently, Zhao holds the position of Director, Biology at Iambic Therapeutics, where they leverage their extensive experience and expertise to drive the company's biology research and development efforts.

Chunmei Zhao holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry from Indiana University Indianapolis. Chunmei also earned a Master of Science (MS) degree and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from Peking University.
