Chris Thoen

Chris Thoen has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In 2016, they served as an Industry Mentor to Start-Ups at MassChallenge. From 2018 onwards, they held multiple positions including Founder & President at CurioCT LLC, Member of the Advisory Board at Sleepiz AG, and Senior Partner Innovation / R&D at C-Suite Consulting-Partners Group. In 2019, they became a Director North America Innovation at Bühler Group, a Swiss company providing processing solutions. Additionally, they have served as a Member of the Flavor & Specialty Ingredient Industry Advisory Board at The Riverside Company and as a Non-Executive Board Member at New Forge and Sleepiz AG. In 2020, they joined the Investment Committee of PeakBridge VC and became the Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board. Chris Thoen also contributed their expertise as a DISTAP Scientific Advisory Board Member at SMART. Throughout their career, they have provided guidance and advice to start-ups, mentored and coached founders, and contributed to written reports in various organizations.

Chris Thoen completed their education in a chronological manner. From 1972 to 1978, they attended Sint-Franciscus High School St-Niklaas, where they pursued Wetenschappelijke Studies, focusing on Sciences. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Antwerp from 1978 to 1982 for their Master's Degree in Science, with a specialization in Chemistry - Biochemistry. Lastly, they pursued a PhD at the University of Antwerp from 1982 to 1986, concentrating on the field of Biochemistry.
