Lauren Padilla

Volo Senior Environmental Data Scientist at Environmental Defense Fund

Lauren Padilla is an experienced environmental data scientist specializing in data analysis and modeling. Currently serving as a VoLo Senior Environmental Data Scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund since January 2019, Lauren's work focuses on air pollution mapping, traffic-related emissions assessment, and modeling the transport of petrochemicals from flood events. Prior to this role, Lauren worked as an Environmental Modeler at Stone Environmental, where the focus was on various modeling applications including endangered species exposure and urban hydrology. Lauren holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, with a co-advisement in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from Princeton University, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Dartmouth College. Additional experience includes a GEM Fellowship at the US EPA and a Powertrain Engineer position at Ford Motor Company.
