Cameron Reyes

Cameron Reyes has a diverse range of work experience in the field of biology and environmental sciences. Currently, Cameron works as a Senior Biologist at Environmental Science Associates, where they serve as a lead field biologist and technical specialist. Their responsibilities include conducting fish monitoring and surveying, environmental compliance monitoring, study planning, state and federal permit applications, in-field coordination, data collection and analysis, and technical report writing.

Prior to their current role, Cameron worked as a Fish Biologist at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service from October 2016 to November 2017. They also worked as a Biological Science Technician (Fisheries Crew Lead) at the U.S. Forest Service from June 2016 to September 2016.

In addition, Cameron has experience as a Lahontan Cutthroat Trout Technician at Trout Unlimited, a Fisheries Technician at the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission, and a Scientific Aide at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Before entering the field of biology and environmental science, Cameron gained customer service and retail experience as a Pet Products Associate and Pet Care Associate at PetSmart from December 2014 to September 2015, and from August 2011 to December 2012.

Cameron also gained research experience as a Research Aide at the Center for Watershed Sciences (UC Davis), where they worked on a team studying the changes in fish assemblages in California rivers and streams due to drought. They assisted with electro-fishing, fish identification, water quality analysis, and map creation using ArcGIS.

Additionally, Cameron worked as a Student Assistant at the Moyle Lab (UC Davis), where they handled chemicals, dissected fish species, assisted with field work for water and zooplankton sampling, and participated in fish surveying and sampling in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.

Cameron Reyes attended Irvine Valley College from 2009 to 2012, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Natural Sciences and Mathematics. From 2012 to 2014, Cameron attended the University of California, Davis and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology. In addition to their formal education, Cameron also holds additional certifications in Whitewater Rescue Technician Lvl 1 and Wilderness First Aid from Sierra Rescue, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
