Intermediate Software Development Manager

About this role

We are seeking a technically proficient Intermediate Software Development Manager to lead and contribute to our SaaS product development. In this role, you will combine strong leadership skills with hands-on development expertise to drive product innovation and team success.

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Maintain the long-term health of the codebase. Feasibility, manage tech debt, balance engineering effort (over vs under engineering).
• Technical Contribution: Actively participate in software development, contributing to the codebase and providing technical leadership.
• Project Management: Manage software development sprints, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with business objectives.
• Product Development: Collaborate with product management to define product requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Technology Leadership: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improve development processes.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges, providing solutions and guidance to the development team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Proven ability to manage and mentor software development teams.
• Strong technical skills and hands-on experience in software development.
• Experience with SaaS development and cloud technologies (Heroku, AWS) is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
