Raymond L. Chan

Dr. Raymond L. Chan joined EPIC Management in July of 2015. He serves as Vice President of Medical Administration and Chief Medical Officer of EPIC Health Plan. Dr. Chan comes with over 20 years of medical director experience. Prior to joining EPIC Management, Dr. Chan served as the Corporate Medical Director for Long Beach-headquartered SCAN Health Plan, the country's fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan. While at SCAN he facilitated joint initiatives with the plan's partner medical groups, particularly in the Southern California region.

Dr. Chan's previous appointments include serving as Director of Clinical Services and Quality for Hill Physicians Medical Group and Regional Medical Director for Health Net, both in Northern California, as well as performing in a variety of Medical Director and other leadership roles at Private Healthcare Systems in its Massachusetts and California offices. A large part of Dr. Chan's focus throughout was on supporting the products and services of these organizations, while at the same time improving their inpatient utilization, network performance, and quality experience.

Dr. Chan is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine and he is a board-certified family physician. Dr. Chan performed his internship at Riverside General Hospital in Riverside, California, and he completed his family practice residency at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, California. Dr. Chan also earned a Healthcare Executive MBA at the University of California, Irvine.
