Johan Bjurgert

Johan Bjurgert has extensive experience in the field of data science and machine learning. Johan is currently working as the Head of Machine Learning at Epidemic Sound, where they focus on building intelligent user-facing products and advancing machine learning engineering across the organization. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Data Science at LeoVegas and as a Data Scientist and Product Owner at Scania Group. Johan also has experience in algorithmic trading, having worked as a Quantitative Trader at an Algorithmic Trading Startup and as a Lead Quantitative Trader at International Marketmakers Combination. Johan started their career as an Intern and Thesis Writer at Allianz Global Investors, where they worked on implementing trading algorithms and conducting research on portfolio optimization. Johan also worked as an Intern at Bosch Security Systems, where they programmed measurement equipment and conducted research on fire alarm devices.

Johan Bjurgert has a diverse education history. Johan obtained a Master's degree in Systems Control and Robotics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University in 2008. Additionally, they studied Russian Studies at Pushkin State Russian Language Institute in 2006 and Mathematics and Philosophy at Uppsala University in 2005-2006. Johan also briefly attended the Technical University of Munich in 2004-2005. Outside of formal education, Johan served in the F-16 Swedish Airforce as a lead paramedic. Furthermore, they have obtained several certifications in various fields, including machine learning, cloud computing, and programming.
